Digital PR: Social Media Relations

Options Exchange

Client:

CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange)

Their Line of Business:

Exchange-traded equity, index and ETF options

The Project Summary:

Our client needed a new PR distribution strategy to reach the growing and influential digital news sources who don't read traditional press releases. They wanted to gain exposure for their corporate communications initiatives in the most influential blogs, forums and sites where they had little visibility. Vivid Ascent created "Social Media Releases" where journalists could copy and embed rich media content like videos, pictures and graphs to help them tell their stories better online. We designed, built and promoted the SMR’s so this client received much better coverage, as well as page-one search results in Google.

The Challenge:

Taking complex information about financial regulation and derivatives trading and transferring it into a social media format for greater penetration in digital news.

The Results:

Our client became the first exchange in the world to distribute news in Social Media Release format. Content from these Social Media Releases have been syndicated to hundreds of blogs and news articles, including Forbes.com.

Services We Provided:

Media relations, website design and digital strategy, copy-writing, search engine optimization, on-site video filming and post-video production.

Social Media

International Advertising Association

Client:

IAA (International Advertising Association)

Their Line of Business:

The IAA is the only global organization chartered to fight unwarranted regulations and champion advertising as a force for growth. The IAA intercepts emerging industry trends before they become obvious and provide its members with an international, multi-industry forum for the global exchange of knowledge, best practices, professional development, intelligence, experience and ideas.

The Project Summary:

The IAA hosted the largest, global advertising conference in Moscow in May 2010 and they offered social media marketing best practices to all their delegates. The IAA hired Vivid Ascent to brand their social networks (IAA Buzz) and deliver content through these networks during the World Congress. Vivid Ascent Tweeted (http://twitter.com/iaabuzz), posted on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/IAABuzz) and conducted 12 video media interviews that were immediately uploaded to their website (http://iaamoscow2010.org/) and distributed through YouTube and other viral destinations.

The Challenge:

The IAA did not participate in social networking prior to the 2010 World Congress and Vivid Ascent had to design, launch and grow their global social community in a matter of weeks.

The Results:

@IAABuzz and IAABuzzFacebook received thousands of new followers during the World Congress and drove these social media channels to the first page of Google search results. Our digital marketing program allowed hundreds of people to access the IAA World Congress speakers without having to fly to Russia for the event.

Services We Provided:

Website design, Social media marketing and digital public relations.
